Dark Cross Fox Pelt by cravingotters Dark Cross Fox Pelt by cravingotters
Just wanted to show off one of my Cross Fox pelts! He's quite a large boy and has amazingly soft and silky fur.

As always, please no rude comments, I treat all of my furs and animal parts with the greatest of respect.

Why do you have your favorite object? Why do you have a hair brush. Why did you have stuffed animals like teddy bears when you were younger? What did you use them for? Your question is kinda stupid

Ohhhhh!!! I love cross fox pelts! I'v been looking for one. :D Did you catch this fox yourself or did you buy it? And If you caught it, what are some good places to hunt for fox, and what's the most humane way to hunt it? I'v been wanting to try out fox hunting. :iconimdedplz:

Hey there, sorry I don't have any for sale at the moment, this one is one of my personal pelts. I purchased this one, I don't know if I could ever bring myself to hunt anything though (unless it was a survival situation) so I can't help you out there unfortunately.

Very nice pelt. I have quite a few Alaskan fox pelts in my gallery, let me know if there is anything you are looking for to add to your collection.

I used to bowhunt a lot but not as much since I made it to Alaska. Too many big bears here, makes me feel like food with a bow in my hand.

he is a non mountable pelt. the pelt has to be mountable to soft mount.

Damn. He is gorgeous. If I had the money and providing this fox lived humanely I would definitely be wanting to buy that. I would then spend all day hugging him.

This might be a dumb question, but where do pelts like this actually come from? I mean, are they wild or captive bred? Just asking because I've only ever seen foxes like this as their pelts... not the live animal. All the foxes in England are undoubtedly Reds...

I've only ever seen oragange ones, unfortunately the only ever reds I've seen are in rural areas in pieces on roads >.<

I saw a pale sandy coloured fox in England once, so no all foxes in England are not red, different colour mutations will crop up from time to time you just have to be in the right place to see them (the fox I saw was very much alive sniffing around the farm track in early evening).

We have cross foxes in England, too. They're just very uncommon. They appear more frequently (wild) in America due to the inbreeding that happened when a small number of red foxes were introduced.

Ah, I see. That's cool.

So, is a cross fox a red/grey hybrid? Sorry if I seem like stupid :P

Nope, red, cross and silver foxes are all the same species, just different colour morphs :] If you look closely on a regular red fox, you may see a darker red 'cross' on its back- because they're secretly in league with their black-faced brethren.

This one was a ranched animal not wild - but I only buy ranch foxes from within the US so I know they are treated rather well during their lives. I never buy any animal products from China.
